Our Story
Engaging in the arts has been shown to improve health and well-being, serving as a supplement to traditional medicine and care. Participation in the arts can prevent disease, build well-being, and enhance healthcare environments. Visual arts offer a powerful means to explore experiences, inspire dialogue, and facilitate connections, helping individuals express thoughts and emotions, reduce stress and anxiety, and inspire feelings of calm and happiness. Performance arts, such as theater, dance, and music, have been found to reduce stress-related illnesses, relieve pain, improve self-esteem and social skills, and boost mental skills and mood.
Art, Community, Belonging, Wellness, Connection
Engaging in the arts can reduce delinquency in youth and improve individuals’ sense of belonging and attachment to the community. Recognizing these benefits, several individuals from Arborg founded The Creative Cocoon in 2016 to establish an arts and wellness center in the area.

Our Vision

The Creative Cocoon aims to be a home for diverse arts programming and education. We strive to collaborate with artists, organizations, and schools to encourage the creation, appreciation, and understanding of the arts. Our goal is to create a gathering place where the community can participate in and celebrate creativity through personal and shared experiences. We aim to serve all ages, from preschool through seniors, provide exhibit space for visual artists from Arborg and beyond, and offer a multidisciplinary center for functional arts and well-being activities.
